Lincoln College
Lincoln College offers
over 450 vocational and 50 academic programmes. Their programmes
cater for the school leaver, the adult returner and for the mature
student. Additionally, local businesses benefit from their unique
variety of training and development plans. Their programmes and
qualifications offer a wide choice of routes into HE and employment.

With the re-opening of the Abbey Building Lincoln College, Lincoln
College was expanding. A solution was needed to improve internal
communication between 18,500 students and staff, to promote the
College services and social activities.
Like many educational establishments, Lincoln College had used traditional
media to publicise important events. However traditional media is
expensive to reproduce, static, and difficult to monitor. With many
students travelling a long way to attend the college, it was vital
to ensure important communications were visible and easily updateable.
PWG Screen Media has allowed Lincoln College to schedule bespoke
media through strategically placed plasma screens. The information
shown is reflective of the diverse events expected at a large educational
establishment. Social events, deadlines and opportunities are all
shown alongside digital television footage. Lincoln College are
also able to market its own services and social events that are
vital to support the college.
PWG Screen Media used a template driven package that allows the
addition, removal and modification of information and rotation cycles.
The templates are changeable and easily created to provide a complete
yet flexible broadcast. Broadcasts can be set up independently of
each other so that each screen on the premises shows the most relevant
broadcast to a particular audience at a given time. This information
can be refreshed from any PC with Internet access without any downtime
on the screens during the updates. For example, the refectory staff
are able to update prices and relevant information locally.
Should Lincoln College need to welcome a visitor, all scheduled
broadcasts can be interrupted and replaced with a personalised welcome
greeting.
